You’re Doing Everything for Everyone—But Who’s Supporting You?
You’re constantly juggling feedings, nap schedules, work deadlines, and the never-ending pressure to “enjoy every moment.” But beneath the surface, you’re anxious, overwhelmed, and wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again. You might be snapping at your partner, crying during naptime, or silently grieving the life you had before becoming a mom. Sound familiar? You're not alone—and you’re not failing. Therapy isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about creating space for you—the tired, tender, frustrated, ambitious, grieving, growing version of you who’s trying her best every single day. If you’re here looking for answers, take a breath. You're in the right place.
Welcome to the FAQ page for Therapy for California Moms!
If you're a millennial mom navigating the ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, or early motherhood, you’ve come to the right place.
Here, I’ve answered some of the most common questions I get about therapy, mental health support, and how we can work together to help you thrive—not just survive Motherhood.
-
Therapy for moms focuses on the emotional challenges that come with motherhood, including depression and anxiety during pregnancy, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, mom burnout, and relationship stress. I offer a judgment-free space where you can talk about your struggles without fear of shame or guilt. In therapy, we work on building self-care strategies, managing overwhelming feelings, and prioritizing your mental health. Together, we’ll help you reconnect with your identity, reclaim balance, and find joy in motherhood.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, anxious, or disconnected during pregnancy or postpartum, you may be dealing with depression or anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety. These conditions are more than just temporary mood swings—they can interfere with your ability to care for yourself or your baby. Symptoms include feelings of sadness, irritability, racing thoughts, panic attacks, and physical exhaustion. Therapy can help by addressing negative thought patterns, building coping skills, and offering support for your emotional well-being. You don’t need to do this alone. You deserve support. I can help!

The consult call is a no-pressure, judgment-free space to explore whether therapy feels like the right next step for you.
We’ll hop on a quick 15-minute video or phone call where you can share a little about what’s been coming up for you—feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, stuck, or just completely worn down—and I’ll walk you through how I work with moms navigating exactly that.
There’s no need to prep anything or explain everything perfectly. You can talk, ask questions, or just see how it feels to connect. If it seems like a good fit, I’ll share what working together would look like. And if not, that’s totally okay too.
This is simply a safe space to be real for a few minutes—and take one small, supportive step toward feeling more like you again.

Yes— virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. The connection, the healing, the breakthroughs—they all still happen. What changes is the flexibility. You don’t have to get dressed up, fight traffic, or figure out childcare just to make it to a session. You can show up exactly as you are—messy bun, baby napping (or screaming) in the background—and still get the same depth of support, insight, and transformation. For so many of the moms I work with, virtual therapy actually makes it easier to be consistent, honest, and open. So yes, it works. And it might just work better for your real, beautifully imperfect life.

Postpartum depression involves persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or exhaustion that don’t improve after a few weeks. Symptoms might include a lack of interest in your baby, trouble sleeping, irritability, or guilt. Postpartum anxiety, on the other hand, is marked by constant worrying, panic attacks, or obsessive thoughts about your baby’s safety. Both are treatable through therapy and support. If you’re struggling with these symptoms, it's time to reach out for help. Therapy can help you manage these feelings, learn coping strategies, and begin the healing process.
-
Mom burnout happens when you're exhausted from trying to do it all—care for your baby, keep up with responsibilities, and manage your own needs. Therapy can help by offering tools to manage stress, set boundaries, and develop a self-care routine that fits your life. We’ll work on managing mom guilt and giving yourself permission to take breaks. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary for your mental health and the well-being of your family. Therapy can support you in reclaiming your energy and finding balance between being a mom and being you.

During a therapy session, you can expect a safe, supportive environment where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life. We’ll explore your feelings, discuss the challenges you're facing (whether it’s postpartum depression, anxiety, or relationship stress), and work on coping strategies that will help you feel more in control. Each session is personalized to your needs, and we’ll go at your pace. My goal is to help you feel empowered, supported, and on the path to emotional well-being.
